Are you really working with Neil Gaiman and Nick Harkaway?
Yes, but not in the way you might expect. Neil and Nick are advisors, creative friends, and brains we can download to our smartphones and subsequently mine for innovation and advice. This isn't going to be a location-based project written by Neil and Nick, rather a project conceived and developed by Circumstance and Tom, with creative advice and story input from our writers.

When will it take place?
Late spring 2013. We're planning a four-stage experience. Whether we run those stages close to each other, or spaced apart is a dependent on audience, technical solutions and most importantly narrative. The timing has to make sense with regard to the story.

How do I get involved?
Email us at a@productofcircumstance.com This will take place in Bristol, and take in the city as a story platform. Some content might be available remotely, but you'll have to be here to really experience this.

What are you making?
You'll have to wait and see... Here's a tease though:

There is another city, a shadow of this one.

In the interstices, in the alleyways, in the eaves and in the gutters. It’s there in the morning and it’s still there when you sleep at night.
The first time you looked up at a facade and wondered, the first time you took a wrong turn and despaired.
It was there, and you saw it.

A writer begins a semi-fictional, unfinished document of this other city. His work is embedded in offline data storage devices across the one you live in. An audience is invited to contribute to, manipulate and distribute this history of a parallel now, moving through different experiences and places as both readers and writers. The results of their interaction become both physical artefacts and new digital data, so when we look back, this archive of the city and its shadow will become blurred into one.
