Prototypes in the Pipeline

The fourth Heritage Sandbox community workshop

Clare summed up perfectly the feeling coming out of this event as Heritage Sandbox builds up momentum ahead of steam before the unveiling of prototypes in September.

“Thoughts on @reacthub, 3 months in to #heritagesandbox: distinguishing between academics + creatives in project presentations is now hard”

Could this be the singularity @reacthub is hoping for? Joking aside, it really did feel like there was a real unity to the way in which each Sandbox Project team articulated their journey and their intentions as we reach the ‘business end’ of their developments. It really was difficult to separate out the split between each project and in now feels like everyone has investment an ownership of their own truly collaborative projects.

Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust and Felicia Smith gave a warm welcome to the fourth Heritage Sandbox community workshop within the grounds of this leafy, overgrown city haven. This was an opportunity to reflect upon the last three month’s production period and look ahead at final plans and prototypes before the final showcase event at Watershed on 28th September. We also welcomed Heather Williams from AHRC (LINK) and mentors James Richards (Chromatrope) and Kenton O’Hara (Microsoft Labs) to feed into the debate. There was a real collective sense of achievement and energy as all six projects in the cohort are now finalising their prototype projects with user testing and dates are in the diary for unveiling these creations at each site. Next steps over summer are test, adjust, iterate and finalise as we plan ahead.
