We're pleased to announce details of our Future Documentary Sandbox showcase.

The project teams have spent the last months in a fast and furious iterative research and development process conducting their own unique and playful investigations at the dynamic edges of documentary filmmaking.

Join our projects as they celebrate the work they have created, from the world's first playable documentary on the infamous Jack the Ripper murders, to becoming a masked character masquerading as Elvis, or playfully confronting and confounding your own expectations of everyday risk and danger through interactive film.

In a time where we produce documentary material in wild profusion through video, audio, blogging and data, their challenge was to make sense of both content and form: to understand how new ways of participation and collaboration online might influence editorial control, trust and authenticity.

The event will include films showcasing the six commissions followed by panel discussions. After the screening there will be an opportunity to test the prototype documentary experiences first hand and raise a toast to the six project teams.

REACT Showcase: Future Documentary is presented in association with i-Docs conference, a two-day event exploring the rapidly evolving world of interactive documentaries.

This event will be hosted on 4pm, Wednesday 19 March 2014 at Watershed, 1 Canon's Rd, BS1 5TX Bristol. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.
