Exciting times for REACT!

From 'Tweeting the Dead' in our heritage sites via the REACT Heritage Sandbox, to exploring how academics and creatives collaborate, it's been a busy

It's been a busy time here at the hub. Firstly, we're preparing for the highly anticipated (and sold out) REACT Heritage Sandbox Showcase. We'll be premiering films about all six commissions from the Heritage Sandbox, discussing their journeys from brilliant ideas into products, experiences and services, and enjoying a keynote from cultural commentator, Charles Leadbeater. Tickets are all gone, but you can watch a live stream of the event between 13.30 and 16.30 on Friday 28th September here.

Elsewhere, members of the team have been writing about the hub and its work: REACT's Director, Jon Dovey considers how we marry the usefulness of academic research with the productive idealism of the culture sector on the Guardian Culture Professionals blog, while Executive Producer Clare Reddington makes a call for more collaboration between academics and creative practitioners on the DCMS website. Finally, our Knowledge Exchange Fellow, Simon Moreton, will be at the Higher Education and the Arts & Cultural Sector conference at the University of Manchester in November talking about how REACT challenges the status quo of knowledge exchange in Higher Education.

Looking to October, and the deadline to take part in our Books&Print Sandbox is fast approaching. This funding call will invest £50,000 in ground-breaking collaborations between arts and humanities academics and creative companies that explore Books and Print as historical, contemporary or future phenomena. If you are part of a collaboration working on your application right now, why not check out Producer Jo's top tips for potential applicants, or read our FAQs. The deadline is Monday 8th October at 1pm.

Finally, our new website launches today. From this site we'll keep you abreast of all the latest REACT news, stories from the Sandbox projects, reports from our ongoing research programme and post details of all our forthcoming events.
